Ralph was the son of Harry and Mary Lewis of Australia. The only clues to his family are the names Jack and Celia on his headstone. Research is continuing.
Ralph was the flight engineer on Halifax DT701 which departed from RAF Rufforth on a night operation to Lorient. The aircraft crashed near the target area killing all the crew.
