Milton was born 9 Aug 1923 the son of Samuel and Rose née Rosenberg of Golders Green, London. Milton had an older brother Cecil and a twin sister Sheila. Milton’s uncle Joseph Bender also served in the RAF and was killed two months after Milton serving in 102 (Ceylon) Squadron as a flight engineer. He is buried in Steenderen General Cemetery, Netherlands.
Milton was killed on his 20th operation. Lancaster ME663 departed at 21.20 on the 9 April 1944 from RAF Binbrook to lay mines in Baltic waters. The aircraft was shot down on its homeward bound journey by a night-fighter and crashed at 03.30 10 April 1944 near Gunderup, Denmark.
