Morris was the son of Archibald and Minnie née Barlowitz of Glasgow, Scotland.
Morris’s father Archibald was born in Kovno, Lithuania, emigrated to Glasgow and became a naturalised British citizen in 1916. In 1917, Archibald enlisted in the 9 Russian Labour Corps and served until Dec 1918.
After the war he married Minnie who also originated from Kovno. They had two children, Morris and Fanny Sadie (Sandra). Sandra married Cyril Arkush in 1946 and they had two daughters.
Morris was an air bomber in Hampden P4389 which took off from RAF Finningley on an air test.
The aircraft stalled and dived into the ground shortly after take–off just outside the Finningley airfield boundary (near Gatewood Farm, Gatewood Lane, Old Cantley, Doncaster) at 18.05 hours.
Five personnel were on board. Two aircrew and three ground crew.
